Precautions for using Fangdun gas masks in the furniture manufacturing industry

Apr,01,2026 << Return list

The painting, polishing, and gluing processes in the furniture manufacturing industry generate a large amount of toxic and harmful substances such as organic vapors, dust, and formaldehyde. Among them, the volatile benzene compounds in paint are highly toxic, and formaldehyde can stimulate the respiratory tract. Long term inhalation of dust can cause pneumoconiosis. Therefore, gas masks are essential protective equipment for furniture manufacturing workers and should be used in a standardized manner.

The furniture manufacturing industry requires the use of different types of Fangdun gas masks for different processes. The spray painting process involves both organic vapors and paint mist particles, and a combination of "gas mask body+organic filter box+pre filter cotton" gas mask should be selected. The outer pre filter cotton intercepts paint mist, while the inner filter box absorbs organic vapors to ensure dual protection. The adhesive coating process generates organic vapors such as formaldehyde, and a brown filter box gas mask should be selected to specifically adsorb the organic vapors.

The polishing process mainly involves dust, and KN95 level dust masks can be used. If the dust contains trace amounts of toxic gases, masks with both dust and gas prevention functions can be used to enhance the protective effect. Before use, it is necessary to check the airtightness of the mask and the effectiveness of the filter box. When wearing, adjust the nose clip and headband to ensure that they fit the face and have no air leakage. Do not remove the mask at will during operation.

The filter box needs to be replaced regularly, adjusted according to the operation time and pollutant concentration. The painting and gluing processes need to shorten the replacement cycle to avoid adsorption saturation failure. Masks should be cleaned promptly after use, wiped with a soft cloth, and stored in a dry, ventilated environment away from pollutants such as paint and glue. Enterprises need to install local exhaust systems to reduce the accumulation of toxic substances, strengthen employee protection training, establish supervision and inspection mechanisms, standardize mask use procedures, ensure the health of employees, and comply with relevant safety production regulations to implement protective responsibilities.
