How does a half-face mask ensure protective efficacy? Fangdun ensures

Jan,23,2026 << Return list

The vulnerable parts of the half-face mask need to be inspected and replaced regularly. The specific replacement timing is as follows:

1. Breather valve plate: If the valve plate exhibits deformation, cracking, reduced elasticity, or poor sealing, it should be replaced immediately. When replacing, ensure that the new valve plate is fully engaged in the valve seat. After installation, a blow test can be conducted to test the sealability.

2. Headband: If the headband loses its elasticity, breaks, or becomes worn, it needs to be replaced promptly. When replacing, follow the reverse order of disassembly to ensure that the headband is securely connected to the facepiece and can be adjusted smoothly.

3. Filter element: When there is severe dust accumulation on the surface of the filter cotton and the respiratory resistance increases significantly, it needs to be replaced immediately; if the filter box emits/tastes pollutant odor, has a stimulating sensation, or reaches the specified usage duration, it needs to be replaced immediately and the user should stay away from the contaminated area. After replacing the filter element, a re-test of its tightness is required.

4. Main body of the mask: When the mask exhibits irreparable cracks, hardened and deformed sealing edges, damaged connectors, or fails to maintain airtightness upon inspection, the entire mask needs to be replaced.

The cleaned and dried half-face mask should be stored separately to avoid contact with sharp objects, chemicals, and dust. It is recommended to place the mask in a dedicated sealed bag or storage box and store it in a dry, ventilated, and cool place, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures (high or low), and excessive humidity to prevent material aging, deformation, or mold growth. The filter element should be stored in a sealed manner to avoid moisture, contamination, or failure.

It is strictly prohibited to modify, abuse, or refit the components of the half-face mask without authorization. Do not use solvents to clean the mask to avoid material damage.

When wearing, ensure that there is no beard, hair, or jewelry on the face that could interfere with the seal, as this will affect the airtightness and accelerate wear on the sealing edges.

After the half-face mask falls or is impacted, it needs to be fully inspected again to confirm that there is no damage or deformation before it can be used again.

Avoid sharing the same half-face mask with multiple people. If sharing is necessary, thoroughly clean and disinfect it after each use to prevent cross-contamination.

Following the above maintenance process can effectively ensure the protective performance of the half-face mask and extend its service life. It is important to note that if any abnormal issues are found during maintenance, the equipment should be immediately stopped, and the fault should be investigated or the equipment should be replaced to ensure safety during each use.
