Polishing is a very common process in various aspects of construction sites, whether it is concrete surface finishing, wall polishing, stone processing, or rust removal and polishing of metal components, it will generate a large amount of fine dust.
These dust particles may seem inconspicuous, but they conceal serious health hazards. Wearing protective masks is the most basic and critical defense line for building polishing workers to protect their respiratory system health, and it is also an indispensable part of safe production.

For construction polishing workers, the correct selection of protective masks is a prerequisite, while standardized wearing is key. Both are indispensable. In the selection of masks, it is necessary to strictly follow the national standard GB2626-2019 and choose the appropriate level of masks based on the intensity of the operation and dust concentration. Mild and intermittent polishing operations, such as partial polishing of home decoration and deburring of small workpieces, can choose the Fangdun KN95 level protective mask, which has a filtration efficiency of ≥ 95% for non oily particles above 0.075 microns and can meet basic protection needs.

High cost-effectiveness; For heavy and continuous polishing operations, such as metal casting polishing, stone processing, and large-scale polishing of enclosed walls, it is recommended to choose KN100 level protective masks, which have a filtration efficiency of up to 99.97%, provide more comprehensive and reliable protection, and can effectively cope with high concentration dust environments.
In terms of mask type selection, it can be flexibly chosen according to the work scenario. Cup type disposable dust mask is lightweight, portable, and inexpensive, suitable for light and temporary polishing operations. However, its sealing performance is average, and it is prone to stuffiness when worn for a long time. It cannot replace the filter cotton, and the long-term use cost is high. It is recommended to choose a style with an exhalation valve, which can quickly discharge humid and hot gases and reduce stuffiness.

The Fangdun silicone half face mask paired with replaceable filter cotton is the preferred choice for construction polishing operations. The mask body can be reused and only requires regular replacement of filter cotton, making long-term use more economical; Silicone material is soft and elastic, with a much better fit than disposable masks. It can tightly fit the facial contour, avoiding dust leakage, and is suitable for medium to heavy and continuous polishing operations. It is also the mainstream choice in industrial construction scenes. If the dust concentration in the work environment is extremely high and accompanied by debris splashing, a full face mask can be used to protect both breathing and eyes from dust damage.

The hazards of dust during construction polishing operations cannot be ignored. Choosing the right mask, wearing it in a standardized manner, and adhering to protective measures are the first and most critical line of defense for safeguarding workers' health. Strictly select KN95 and KN100 level protective masks according to national standards, and reasonably choose disposable cup masks or silicone half masks based on the work scenario, in order to truly block the dust risk outside the body. Only by implementing every detail of protection can we ensure construction efficiency and protect the respiratory health of every polishing worker, so that safety production can go hand in hand with occupational health.
